Purdue University
Mark Lundstrom is the Don and Carol Scifres Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University and currently serves as Special Advisor on semiconductors to Purdue's president. He has also served as Purdue’s Dean of Engineering twice.
Lundstrom earned his BEE and MSEE degrees from the University of Minnesota and his Ph.D. at Purdue University. He began his career in industry working on semiconductor R&D and manufacturing. At Purdue, his research and teaching have focused on the physics, modeling, and simulation of semiconductor materials and devices, including work on the scaling limits of MOSFETs, which supported the design and manufacturing of transistors at the 10 nanometer length scale.
Lundstrom also founded nanoHUB, which for 30 years has offered online access to semiconductor simulation tools and open-content educational resources to a global community.
Lundstrom has authored numerous research papers and six books. Recognition for his teaching, research, and outreach includes IEEE Life Fellow and election to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
